Hello, 2021!

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

I feel so optimistic about the new year. I'm speaking blessings and prosperity over my life and all of yours! While there is still so much uncertainty, I choose to have faith that it will all work out in the end.

Once again, I have decided to set some goals that I hope to achieve throughout the year. I don't hold myself to strict standards, but rather I believe life is a process. While I hope to achieve all of these, I will just gradually take steps towards achieving them while giving myself grace along the way!

  1. Get healthy - I made a lot of really good changes at the beginning of quarantine, eating healthier and exercises. Unfortunately, when the fall semester started, life got busy, and I fell back into bad habits. I don't have a goal weight or a calorie limit, but rather I just hope to make better choices along the way. I am entering 2021 with some inspiration, a plan, and some friends who are going to tackle this journey alongside me!

  2. Enjoy the little moments - I am such a future oriented person. I have always had a plan for my life. Honestly, I have already set life goals for myself through the year 2040. But staying home more has reminded me to enjoy all of the little moments, from cooking with my roommates to binge watching Netflix and everything in between.

  3. Travel 2 new places - I am hoping to go on a Spring Break trip in the Us and a Christmas cruise to the Carribean. Nothing is set in stone, but I think it is time for this southern girl to get out and explore the world!

  4. Get accepted to medical school - I cannot believe I will be applying to med school this year! It feels like a long time coming. I have already been working on my application, and while it has not been an easy journey - I know it will be absolutely worth it!

  5. Love myself unconditionally - This is a goal from 2020 that I made a lot of progress towards. However, I feel there is still more work to do!

  6. Be more forgiving - This is also a goal from 2020 that I made progress towards. However, I am still learning how to give myself and others grace!

Goals serve as guiding principles for how I hope to live, but they do not serve as absolutes. I am so so so excited to see what 2021 has in store. It's a new year, but I am still the same me. I just hope to grow and learn along the way!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
